I don’t read nearly as much as I did when I was younger, but a habit I have generally maintained over the years is to read before bed.

My nightstand tends to resemble a library and I’m often making my way through 3 or 4 books at any one time (a habit I’m actually trying to curb). It’s often only 20-30 minutes, but it settles me in for the night, relaxes my brain, and feels like my own time – sometimes myΒ only time in the day.

(And yes, I am reading almost exclusively female authors this year)
